Prison Phoenix Trust Scotland

Prison Phoenix Trust Scotland was set up in 1996 to increase the number of yoga classes in the 16 prisons in Scotland.

It is run by the Scottish Co-ordinator, Katy Macfarlane.

There are weekly classes in Aberdeen, Barlinnie, Cornton Vale, Edinburgh, Greenock, Noranside, Polmont and Perth.

We are indebted to all our donors and friends in Scotland who keep the work of the Trust active with their generosity, especially to the Christina Mary Hendrie Trust for Scottish and Canadian Charities for their outstanding support.

Yoga and meditation in a prison cell
I find I can use breathing exercises to stay calm allowing me to take better stock of the situation.  I enjoy my yoga class so much and will keep it up on my release.  It has given me some good coping strategies.
