Meet us at the Autumn Yoga Summit 2 November

Join us in London (or online) on Saturday, 2 November 2024, for the inaugural SOAS – BWY Autumn Summit: Yoga, Health, Harm and Healing.

This all-day conference is a collaboration between renowned scholars and leading yoga practitioners aiming to provide a day of learning, reflection, and thought-provoking discussion on contemporary themes in Yoga Studies.

The first two sessions focus on yoga in prisons with expert speakers Prof. Rosie Meek from Royal Holloway, University of London, and Rose Parkes from Institute of Law, Jersey, who is an experienced prison yoga teacher.

The Prison Phoenix Trust will be there with a stall, where you can  find out more about the charity’s work in prisons, young offenders institutions and other secure settings across the UK and Ireland. And there will be yoga practices led by Ranju Roy and Jo Bogacz

    Prof. Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, Harvard Medical School
  • Honouring Yoga Nidrā Śakti – the healing power of rest.
    Dr Umā Dinsmore-Tuli
  • A psychoneuroimmunological investigation on the effect of Yoga Nidrā on chronic stress.
    Carola Chiarpenello, MSc Cognitive Neuroscience, King’s College London
